The would-be gunman, Thomas Crooks, was killed by Secret Service snipers. Tragically, a rally attendee, Corey Comperatore, lost his life while shielding his family from the gunfire.
Prior Threats to Trump
This incident is the latest in a series of security threats faced by the former president.
In September, another man, Ryan Routh, was arrested near Trump’s golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida, allegedly planning to assassinate him.
Routh was found with an SKS rifle and a handwritten list of Trump’s upcoming appearances.
He has since been charged with attempting to assassinate a presidential candidate and other related charges.
Continuing Security Concerns
Trump, who is once again in the political spotlight, faces ongoing threats.
Authorities continue to investigate the motives behind Miller’s actions, though no direct connection to prior assassination attempts has been established.
